Puttur: The Post Graduate Department of Physics, St Philomena College Puttur organized a guest lecture on “Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope (GMRT): Technological and Scientific Milestone in Indian Science” on August 18, 2016 in Seminar Hall.
Dr Ishwara Chandra C H, Incharge of GMRT Science Operations was the resource person. In his presentation, he said, ‘By studying light and electromagnetic radiation we can collect lot of information regarding the existence and evolution of the universe.’ He also spoke on various technical aspects of the radio telescopes which are located in India.
The faculty members and the students of the Department have actively participated in the programme. Dr A P Radhakrishna, HOD of Physics welcomed the gathering. Ms Anusha K S proposed the vote of thanks.
